In the remote village of Ruhe, people happily go about their daily lives. The residents appreciate their quiet life and the security of the village community. Every Tuesday, the postwoman takes the cable car over the mountain that separates the valley from the outside world. She likes her work and is a welcome visitor.

Until one day, a deep hole suddenly opens up in the middle of the market square. The beautiful peace is gone. Fear, mistrust and speculation run rampant as people try to deal with the new uncertainty in very different ways. In the search for explanations, the question of guilt increasingly comes into focus. Didn’t all the trouble begin with the construction of the cable car? How do people cope when something changes suddenly and fundamentally? And what does that do to a community?
